About the Design + Deliverability Competition
The purpose of the Port Authority Bus Terminal International Design + Deliverability Competition is to seek ideas and design concepts for a new bus terminal that also are deliverable in a complex urban environment.
The Port Authority invites you to review and comment on the concepts as presented by the Finalist teams on this website. Comments will be made available to the competition jury and to the agency’s Board of Commissioners.
The competition is an early-stage step by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey prior to proposing a major regional project for a new midtown bus terminal, which will be subject to a transportation alternatives analysis and thorough assessment under the applicable federal, state, and local government processes with extensive opportunities for public involvement. The agency’s leadership looks forward to the public’s input at this preliminary stage and throughout the formal project planning phases that lies ahead to develop this challenging but vital project.
